Our pools are all outdoor, heated pools. The Sprayground water is not heated.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate class make-ups.
The Pleasant Hill Education Center Pool (on Pleasant Hill Middle School campus) ǀ 1 Santa Barbara Road. This pool features a 10-lane, 25-yard pool and is home of the Pleasant Hill Dolfins, Cali Suns Water Polo and lap swim programs.
Pleasant Hill Aquatic Park (in Pleasant Hill Park) ǀ 147 Gregory Lane. PH Aquatic Park features a 6-lane (25 yards) dive pool with 2 diving boards at the deep end, a Training Pool that is 20 yards, 4 lanes wide, 3 1/2-4 feet deep and an interactive water Sprayground.
The temperature varies and might feel warmer or colder based on a number of factors. We try to keep the Ed Center pool at 80 degrees and PH Aquatic Park at 82 degrees.
Yes, our pools and facilities are ADA accessible. The Ed Center pool has a chair lift as well as accessible stairs. At PH Aquatic Park, we have a chair lift for both the Dive Pool and Training Pool. Our staff are more than happy to show you how to use the chair lift if you need assistance. In addition, the showers and bathrooms at both facilities have ADA accessible stalls.
At PH Aquatic Park, we have changing rooms with showers and restrooms. At the Ed Center Pool, there are bathrooms adjacent to the pool, showers on the pool deck and an adult changing room in a separate area.
Yes, all persons entering the facility must pay admission. There is no way to prevent people from entering the pool once they go into the locker rooms. All patrons entering the pool area receive the benefit of the facility whether or not they actually enter the pool. In amusement parks, not everyone entering the park uses the rides, but they must all pay an admission fee.
Effective March 31, 2020, all Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District (Rec & Park) offices, buildings and nonessential services will close until further notice in response to the updated Contra Costa County Health Services shelter-in-place mandate to slow community transmission of COVID-19 coronavirus.

Currently, all summer camp and aquatic camp sessions that start in June 2020 have been canceled. Camps and programs that begin in July are still pending and may be modified, virtual or canceled based on Contra Costa County public health orders. NEW! PHRec CARES Summer ProgramsIn early June, we are introducing "PHRec Cares", child-care based summer programs for preschool, youth, and teens. PHRec Cares is the only in-person youth programming for the month of June. As public health orders are modified in the coming weeks/month, we will be expanding our summer programming in July. Enforcement: If residents do not comply with the above-mentioned restrictions, parks will be closed for public access and if appropriate, the Pleasant Hill Police Department will be contacted to enforce violations of the CCHS order. Failure to comply with the requirements is a misdemeanor punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both. Violation of the Order constitutes a public nuisance and a violation of the County Ordinance Code.

Yes. The Senior CC Cafe program at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center will continue to provide meals "to go" for adults over 60 years old on a limited basis until further notice. The dining room at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center will be closed.
To-Go meals packs (7 frozen meals + milk, bread and fruit) are available for pick up at the Senior Center from 12:00-12:30 pm. There is a $3 per meal suggested donation. Meals are handed out on Wednesdays (new day) between 11:00-11:30 am (NEW TIME). Reservations need to be placed by Tuesday at noon. For people picking up meals, please allow a 6 foot distance between you and next person at all times.

Tuition is due in full at registration or may be divided into nine monthly payments via auto-pay on the 15th of each month.
Children enrolling in any of our preschool classes must be age appropriate as of September 1st in the year of enrollment. An annual, non-refundable $100 per family registration fee is required to hold your child's space in a program. A copy of the birth certificate and immunization records are also required. During enrollment, we ask parents to complete an up-to-date liability waiver and emergency card. Please be prepared to complete all emergency information at the time of registration: Doctor and dentist contact information, health plan number, immunization record and emergency contact numbers.

Keeping your child safe is a number one priority at our school! We created a set of best practices to ensure a safe learning environment that include the following: Our teachers are CPR / First Aide certified and trained to act immediately. Child emergency information is kept on file in the classroom and in the Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District office. Parents are required to sign their child both in and out when dropping off and picking up. No child may leave with a non-guardian without written guardian consent. All class parents are notified of specific child allergies and needs are accommodated. Routine fire and earthquake drills are practiced.
Registration is Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. at the Community Center for enrollment in the 2020-2021 school year. Please contact Sarah Smith, Preschool Director for program availability at 925-771-7626. In-person enrollment is at the Pleasant Hill Community Center located at 320 Civic Drive in Pleasant Hill. Space is limited! When registering please provide a copy of your child's birth certificate, immunizations, current PGE bill (PH Residents only) as well a credit card for the $100 registration fee as well as first month's tuition. If your child was previously enrolled in one of our preschool programs, he / she will be given continuing priority registration in February 2020. You must contact Sarah Smith by February 7th for the priority registration request form.

We currently book private events one year out to the day. Regular use rentals and our internal events have priority bookings over all other events.
If your planning to serve alcohol at your event, you will need to complete an alcohol permit and pay the $75 fee. If your planning to sell alcohol at your event, please contact the ABC for their guidelines.
Anyone is welcome to participate in Senior Center programs regardless of residency. Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District residents receive discounts on some classes and trips.
The minimum age to join the Senior Center is 50.
Membership is $20 for the calendar year. Anyone age 88 & older is considered an honorary member and their membership is free. Everyone is required to fill out a membership form regardless of age.
The Senior Center facility is open based on scheduled programming. Office hours for the Senior Center are Monday-Thursday, 9am to 4pm and Friday, 9am to 3pm.
