Derby Day
(All ages are welcome!)
Test your engineering skills! Design and build a boat made entirely from recyclable materials that will accommodate between 2 and 6 persons. Start collecting cardboard, duct tape, plastic soda bottles, and milk jugs now for your boat and your paddles. All boats will compete in races across the shallow water of the training pool. Think of a theme! Decorate your boat and come in costume, but prepare to get wet! Preregistration is required for all boats by July 15. For rules or more information, call 682-0896.

Kayaking at Elkhorn Slough, Moss Landing
Explore the second largest estuary in California. It is a unique habitat for sea otters, harbor seals and shorebirds. Wetsuit, paddling jacket, and life jacket provided. Bring bathing suit, extra top (synthetic, not cotton), shoes that can get wet, water, snack bar and sunscreen!

“School House Rock!” Live At the School House (all ages)
Postponed until Fall 2008. S.T.A.G.E. (Several Teens Acting Goofy Everywhere) Summer Repertory presents this pop culture phenomenon based on a 1970s Saturday morning cartoon that taught history, grammar, math and science! All the favorite bits are here, wrapped into the story of a young teacher terrified of facing her first class and looking for a way to really bring learning to life.
